How long does the Readiness Program take?+

The full arc is typically 6–36 months. Diagnose is two weeks. Build is 6–12 months for most engagements. Stay is rolling — most owners keep us on retainer through the sale process. The right shape depends on your sale window and current state.

Do I have to commit to all three tiers up front?+

No. Most owners enter at Diagnose, decide whether to continue into Build based on the report, then add a Stay retainer once they're approaching the sale window. Each tier stands on its own.

What does it cost?+

Is XLev an M&A advisor?+

No. XLev does not provide M&A, legal, financial or valuation advice. We improve the operational layer underneath the numbers — the layer that determines what multiple buyers will actually pay.

How is this different from a management consultancy?+

Two things. First, we're operators, not advisors — our team is in the work, installing systems alongside yours. Second, we're priced against the eventual transaction, not the hour. Our success is measured in the multiple you sell at, not the deck we deliver.

What if I'm not selling?+

The same systems that move the multiple also reduce owner dependency, increase margin, and make the business more enjoyable to run. Many clients start the program intending to sell and decide to keep operating instead — by then they have a business worth keeping.

Do you sign NDAs?+

Yes — happy to sign yours, or use a short mutual NDA if you'd prefer. Confidentiality is the default regardless.
